Who Killed the Interpreter (2008)
A bunch of people are invited to a party of some kind. There they meet Nat, the interpreter who knew too much about their secrets. And someone wants to make sure that the secrets are kept safe so badly that the interpreter has to be killed. But who killed her? And what was the secret the killer don't want anyone to know?
This story came up when the crew and cast were filming Pieces. We all were just discussing the idea of this film during a break. We scribbled up some ideas and kept it after we finished with Pieces. Once the story was written, we met with the cast. We discussed what we wanted to do with our characters. We developed the characters with the look and how each one is behaved, and how everyone is linked to each other.
We began filming on a weekend in February and continued to the middle of July.
There were some problems and issues on locations. We have to move into a different location after the first filming, and also have a problem with the time of filming. We ought to film at night, but changed it to a daytime instead. You may notice a few lighting problems in the film due to changing filming times.
Because there were some issues of commitment with some people we have to cut the script short and ended up with a slightly different storyline. The results of the change was better than I thought it would be.
We had a wrap party on Saturday 26th July, 2008 with the cast and friends. It is now on YouTube.
Trivia
One of the scenes in the film are very much inspired by 1970's original film, Benji. I love the effects of flashbacks. I often use them in my films, especially this one. The theme of the film also inspired by 1985's comedy film, Clue.
